Food Safety
The Boone County food safety program monitors all retail food facilities in the county to ensure a safe food supply for the public. Food facilities include restaurants, markets, school cafeterias, bakeries, convenience stores, bars, farmers markets, food service at fairs and festivals, and food trucks.
Our team conducts routine food safety inspections, investigate complaints of sanitation violations and suspected foodborne illnesses, conduct food safety recalls, review plans for proposed new and remodeled facilities and issue permits for food facilities.
